Redwing Irish setter.

There are so many good boots company in the world. But for me, after wearing several different boots, the Redwing became my No.1 because It has rich history and more like simple and rugged style. (or maybe I felt it is almost same when I wore boot in the army. yes that was real first time I could have an experience about "boots" and recognized its function)

The one above is Irish setter 8165 which is dead stock for now. (Redwing had manufactured this model not irish setter one in few years ago and they stopped it somehow)

This Irish setter is the legend of Redwing boot. Fortunately I could find this one in Ebay with my size in pretty good price. (Well, I am sure some people can't understand buying 50's / 60's old and used boots)

The name "Irish setter" is known because of the leather they used and the shape "moc-toe" came out from the Indian words "Moccansin" for shoe.

The tag on the tongue is key to find when it was made. Every different time era has different picture of dog and sign. This one was made in 60's because there is no "Made in USA" letter in the picture and also different shape of dog comparing with 80's tag.

Actually, It doesn't have to be Irish setter or something else and nobody is going to recognize that before you tell it by yourself. However, It is good to know about the story of my boots and it is just a fun no matter how deep you are in the vintage world.
